Welcome to the New Addington Little League Football Web site. Our goal (no pun intended) is to provide you with useful information about our League that we hope makes it easier for you to understand our aims and objectives.
We hope that this web site will give you a lot of detail about the league and a ‘feel’ for us as a very child-centred organisation. We expect to do things successfully and although we have been operating for more than 30 years we are always looking to improve.
Enjoy exploring the site and looking at the many pictures. For those directly connected with the league, be proud of what you are a part of and the work you do for the league. For those new to us and who wish to raise a query – do not hesitate in contacting one of the officers listed on this page.
New Addington Little League has been serving the local community since 1977. We are a Registered Charity No. 1002559 and every penny of every pound raised is used for the benefit of the players.
We are managed by a volunteer staff usually recruited from parents of the 138 boys who play football in the league.
We provide football for local boys aged 8 to 12 years inclusive and all our matches are played on a Saturday morning at Rowdown Primary School playing field, King Henry’s Drive, New Addington. Once selected players are offered continuity in the League until they have to ‘retire’ at the age of 13 years. Players may not be replaced through lack of ability and, uniquely, substitutions are compulsory at half time in every match, which guarantees all players at least half a game.
We try to ensure that all matches are controlled by a qualified referee and in this we are very fortunate to have the services of several such officials who undertake this task voluntarily and who otherwise have no connection with our league.
We have a ‘Bantams’ section for boys and girls under eight years of age who have regular training sessions and who play in ‘ad hoc’ matches on Saturday mornings during the football season.
On this site we provide information about team fixtures for the following week as well as the latest match results and current league positions, all updated weekly. We also have pages with information about past League Championships, Cup Winners and Special Events etc.
There are other similar Little Leagues in the south London and Birmingham areas and if you would like information about these leagues this can be obtained on our National Web site – www.littleleaguefootball.com.
