Every year, usually in May, we hold a Six-a-Side tournament for players from the six associated squads, ie. Main and Mini-soccer teams combined. The fourteen oldest players in each combined squad are divided into two groups of seven players with older boys playing as ‘Senior’ teams, the youngest boys as ‘Juniors’. This division is strictly by date of birth. Although the event is primarily for the Main team players we ask the boys from the Mini-soccer teams to come along and support their Main team colleagues with the added incentive that they may also have a chance of being included in the competition.
The Senior and Junior teams play as separate groups on a league basis with all games being played as 10 minute matches on the same day. The teams finishing in the top three positions in each age group receive 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals. This competition has always been a closely contested event with the final placings being in doubt up to, and including, the final games.
This tournament has also been very popular with the boys because with league and Cup games all concluded they can relax and enjoy a day of friendly rivalry while often displaying some exceptional skills in the small sided games.
This year the event is being held on Saturday 24th May with games kicking off at 10.00 am
